Catherine Ford was born Bloomsbury in London. Because her father had left the family of Ford, they were taken care of by her grandmother, mom as well as godparents. Ford suffered from anxiety disorder that was rooted in word associations as a young toddler. Ford's love for acting grew in her early years. She was a part of in the National Youth Theatre. She was accepted to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just one few weeks, she realized it was not suitable for her. Ford decided to apply to Central School of Speech and Drama and winning a placement at the third time, applied and won acceptance to Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall - who later appeared as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who - was one of Ford's classmates. Ford graduated in 1993 but, by that time, she had already made her TV debut on the 1991 season from Surgical Spirit; she adopted the professional name "Catherine Tate". Tate began her TV debut in the year 1991, appearing in shows such as The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. Tate was also a regular performer in the theatre, and later joined in the Royal Shakespeare Company during its season 2000-2001. Tate's stand-up comedy, which she began adding to her repertoire in 1996, quickly gained the attention of her peers.
