Hossack was born in Steinbach, Manitoba Canada. As a child, she grew up and went to school with her father in Killarney Manitoba. She was engaged in various musical theater productions. As she began the process of completing her Brandon University education, she studied piano. Then she switched to voice. After a brief time as a drama student, she announced that her only interest was acting. Banff School of Fine Arts was her next stop after she completed her studies at Brandon. In the years following her completion of her college studies, Hossack performed on the stage at the Muskoka Festival in Ontario as well as her own Rainbow Stage in Winnipeg. Other World (from 1989 to 1992), Cobra (from 1993-1992), Hope Island, (1999) The Other World (from 1989 to 1992), Hope Island, (1999), and Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital (2003).
