Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old when he was 27, he began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. He also appeared on The Killing, a drama series that was released around the world. He later appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other highly acclaimed Danish dramas. He also played a major role in Sherlock the series, the BBC drama where was the character Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American TV series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his role as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English as well as mastering different accents. Mikkelsen has stated that he and his brother learned English initially by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
